PTO Officer Report

Co-President

  • PTO has the authority to paint the blacktops (e.g., four square lines) where paint is coming off. Phyllis is coordinating with Mrs. Goodman and John Imber to see if this is possible.

  • Phyllis is working with Ron DeGeroge and Ald. John Moran to get the sidewalk flooding issue on Elmore fixed.

  • Phyllis has also been in contact with Ron and John about the dead trees on school property on the Elmore side of the building.

  • Mrs.Gabel's memory bench (purchased by the PTO) and the little library in her honor are now installed. The library is painted in the Fancy Nancy theme as reading and this book series were one of her favorites. Mrs. Gabel was a long time Field teacher that passed away three years ago. I also included a picture of the little library that was added to the reading garden in her memory too. Thank you to Mrs. Fiore for organizing the bench purchase and Mrs. Schaab and her family for building the library.

  • Pizza donations gift cards purchased: 25 @ $100 each for Field families in need. PTO paid $2,300, a savings of $200. Remainder of pizza day donations will go towards Uncle Pete’s Lunch (an existing charity Field teams with), $2,749.

  • Parents are asked to decorate their cars during the year end parade on June 9 at 10am to thank Field teachers and staff.

  • Thank you to all the PTO volunteers this year! Committee chairs, members and volunteers help make the PTO a success.

Vice President: Committee chairs being filled – there are a few chairs that are open, Sara will communicate needs in coming weeks-information will be shared via PTO newsletter.

Treasurer – discussion and vote on V-show 66 fund use: V-show will be netting approximately $39k. Expenses of $10k and gross income of $49k.

Items V-show is proposing to support:

  • Book Vending machine and supply/money for books: This was an idea which Mrs. Schaab requested with walkathon funds. The machine cost is $4905 and we would allocate $3,095 for books, totaling $8,000.

  • VShow 66: money aside for last shows in the fall $3,000, if we are able due to Covid. This will pay rentals, band, videographer and dumpster for clean up. We would have spent this money this year, but the year was all cut short.

  • VShow 67: With the impact of Covid19, we would like to set aside funds to help V67 produce their show. This would be monies for their band, school rental and set costs. the total would be $7,000. We can itemize based on this year's spend.

  • Display case for outside of the MPR. We would like this for the plaques for Follies and V Show. This cost is still being looked at. At this point, we are saying $6,000, as the district would need to approve the vendor and most likely install and we would pay.

  • MPR Improvements: technology adds of spotlights and iPads to help district tech deck. $5,000

  • COVID Sanitation/Safety: While we know the district will be purchasing items to help the safety of the students, we are hoping to enhance this with hand sanitizing stations or other items to help keep Field clean and safe. $10,000. If this is something the district is doing on their own, we will look for another option to better your school and keep it safe.

*A vote was taken all in attendance approved the use of V-show funds detailed above.
