Presidents Report

  • Moment of silence for 9-11 and Mrs. Gable

  • The PTO will support any memorial fund or item the school chooses for a memorial for Mrs. Gabel.

  • Picture Day is Fri. the 21st, and we are in of need volunteers. Contact Colleen Klehr to help.

  • Field Follies practices started yesterday. Nov. 9, 10, 11th is show weekend. Additional info coming home with your child soon. They are at an all time low for volunteers and an all time high for kids. People can still volunteer.

  • Lego Club didn’t run last year and we have no one for this year. It is a popular club and it would be nice to offer it again.

  • Barnes and Noble Book fair is set for first Sunday in Dec. We still need a chair for this event.

  • PTO membership is still open. Right to vote and a directory are included in your membership fee of $15.00 per family.

Treasurer Report

  • Take a look at proposed budget.

  • We are not sure we have a financial need for walk-a thon.

  • Secure vestibule- not sure where we will land with this so trying to find a big ticket item that we could dedicate the funds from a walk-a thon. Hoping for decision by next year. If they choose to take auditorium it might be possible to retro fit north gym to use as a stage. We are projected to keep growing and not sure where we will fit all the kids. Currently we have 650 children.

  • Field Trips are in the Enrichment Fund.

Secretary Report

  • Please get blast submissions to me by Friday afternoon.

  • ELF Halloween Hustle is Oct. 27th in Hodges Park. ELF is also in need of new trustees. Please consider joining the board.

Principal Report

  • Dr. Bednar is organizing a World Café for Field parents on Oct. 2nd. This will be a discussion on how we can make Field a better place.

  • Off to a good start this year. Community and caring is a starting goal for the year!

  • In academics the students are focusing on setting goals for themselves as readers and in other areas. No book buddies this year, but accountability buddies. It doesn’t matter what they read, it matters that they read!

  • Caught caring tickets- positive start to the year with behavior and manners.

Committee Reports

  • Picnic- Bouncy house vendor is not approved. To have the picnic we need to move past the bouncy house and use a vendor that is approved. Getting late for a date for picnic.

  • Maybe we have a Trunk or Treat instead of picnic since it is getting late for back to school. Friday the 26th or sometime that weekend.

  • Fall Fest is going to be changed to a Fall Field Parent Social if there is someone willing to organize.

  • Tina McNamee- Cultural Arts assembly on the first day of school went well.

  • Carol Sales-Discovery Day went well. Would like some more interactive stuff for Discovery Day next year.

New Business

  • School supply donation at the end of the year. Rebecca Little offered to organize. She will also help with Trunk or Treat.

  • At next meeting we will vote on the new proposed reimbursement process. Mrs. Fiore will be at the next meeting to review our audit.

  • We found a new accountant to handle our taxes for half the price. We are waiting for our tax exempt letter. Paul will let us know when taxes are done officially.

  • The IRS agreed to waive all fines.
