As it was decided and discussed at our September PTO meeting, our first Halloween Trunk or Treat, will be held on Sunday October 28th from 3pm to 5pm. Rebecca Little reports that she has 12 families signed up to participate, she’d ideally like an additional 8 cars to participate for a total of 20 cars in the teachers parking lot. She is calling our community fire and police departments as well as organizing games, and a contest for both best costume and best decorated trunk. If you are able to volunteer and decorate your trunk, please sign up with Rebecca – the sign up genius link is in our PTO Blast.
Science Olympiad 2019 sign up is open and accepting participants from grades 3 through 5th. Please visit the District 64 website for the online registration, video presentation and additional information regarding science Olympiad. Registration will close on Friday, November 9th and the actual event will take place on Saturday, February 2nd at Emerson Jr High.
The members of ELF asked that we remind everyone of their annual ELF Halloween Hustle 5K. This event will serve as ELF’s main fundraiser this year. This year the 5k run and walk will take place on Saturday, October 27th at Hodges Park, starting at 8am. Please register at district64elf.org.

The world café was well attended and we received a lot of great feedback. Dr. Bednar shared the notes with the attendees. He will discuss findings with the teachers at the Dec. 12th all staff meeting.
They are still making some changes in the library. Planning to make a Lego wall. Dr. Bednar can use Student Activity money for this project.
Also completed the ordering of the Wednesday word challenge. After Greg Tang Math night.
Parent conferences happening now and going well.
Secure Vestibule. - Since the last board meeting in September the board decided not remove the auditorium. The next meeting is Oct. 22nd, and Dr. Bendar is hoping for a final decision, but it should not include removing the auditorium. They hope to start work over spring break removing carpet and tile down to the concrete. Will end up with tile hallways. The architects discovered a buildable floor above the 3rd floor. Possible to expand this to classroom. Can’t do this and the vestibule at the same time. One will summer of 19 and one summer of 20. Decision needs to be made in Oct. so they can be ready for spring.
Volleyball - Kristen Olson is in charge of volleyball. This will be for 4th and 5th graders. Sign up will start sometime before the winter break.
A boys running club was mentioned at the World café. Let me run is a boy’s version of Girls on the run that we are exploring
Meeting adjourned at 7:40- Catherin Gillespie and Carol Sales
